GraceGoProject2014(3)Even before classes began, Grace University students made a difference in our community by reaching out and serving others.

“All for the glory of God. That’s what everything we’re doing out here is — to represent Christ well. We know that Christ served others and he served us, and we want to show others Christ’s love through our service,” said CJ Snodgrass, student body president.

Freshmen and new students at Grace participated in a neighborhood clean-up as part of the University’s annual GO Project during Welcome Week.  Students worked along 10th Street doing jobs such as pulling weeds and picking up trash to beautify the area and serve neighbors. In Dahlman Park, students cleaned playground equipment, power-washed tennis courts and helped clear branches and debris.

“The Servant Leadership Training program is a distinctive of a Grace University education,” said Terry Johnson, SLT director.  ”We want our students to have opportunities to serve on campus and in the community, as they learn to be more like Christ.”

The Servant Leadership Training Program is a key component of a Grace University education. Each year, Grace University students give more than 25,000 hours of community service.

Grace University, located in Omaha, Neb., is a regionally accredited, private Christian university with more than 40 diverse areas of study for undergraduate, graduate and adult degree completion students including education, business, psychology, music, nursing and Christian ministries. The university’s mission is to develop servant leaders for the home, the church and the world through excellence in biblically integrated education.
